Made from 500,000 pieces, the multicolor monolith rises up to 31.19 meter high, thus beating Chile's 2008 world record by 25 centimeters. Located at San Paolo, Brazil, it takes four days for a group of 6,000 lego fans - which most of them are children to accomplish building the tower.
While most of them were children, they needed a bit of help getting the top brick in place, as none of them had a crane operating license.
The first lego tower was built in London in 1988 and stood just a little over 15 meters, according to Lego. Since then, 53 cities have hosted the tower in more than 30 countries.
